Why Choose WFCC?
Classic medical care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) is usually provided in one of the six residential settings in the state of Mississippi. Specialty care for the IDD population is not taught in any medical or advanced nursing curriculums. Thus, training is obtained on the job for those who have been fortunate enough to work in a setting that deals with the IDD population. Dr. Walton is one of only a few Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) in the state of MS who has had the privilege to work at North Mississippi Regional Center. NMRC provides services and supports to clients with IDD in the Northern 23 counties of MS. Dr. Walton is the only APRN of those few with a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) that has specialty training in both clinical and administrative skills in the IDD population within North MS!
